Hello fellow crafty people. :)
This pattern was originally published with a Woman's Day kit in 1984 and that is where the picture is reproduced from. The Sweety Yarn is no longer available and neither is the pattern so when I asked Spinrite if I can publish this pattern on my website they not only very generously granted permission they made a recommendation for the current yarn that you can use today.
As the original pattern offered here was in a kit no quantities or yardage was given for each colour. The original yarn (Bernat Sweety) was very light and used a total of 12 balls of yarn. The pattern was later made up in Bernat Berella "4" and used the following quantities of 100g balls of yarn (240 yards per ball).
Colour A | 3 |
Colour B | 2 |
Colour C | 2 |
Colour D | 5 |
Consequently I have changed the quantities on the the original kit pattern to reflect this ratio. Of course it would be sensible to buy some extra of each colour anyway. What isn't used in your afghan could easily be used to make a matching cushion or two for the ultimate in snuggly, cozy luxury.
